Like all molosser type , French Bulldog are likely to be descended from Epirian and Roman molasses. Their relations include the Bulldog, the Medieval Alaunts and others similar French types. Today’s breed is the product of crossbreeding in working class neighborhoods of 1880’s Paris. At the time, they lived among the butchers and coaches of the Halles market but their special physique and happy disposition soon won them a place in high society and the artistic community. From then on they thrived.
